Jobs in Trinidad and Tobago are opportunities that generate income for the residents of these places. As such, a good number of people have ventured into various fields in order to generate income. There are those tasks which require only the manual input of the people, while others may require both manual and intellectual input.

The first category of duties is that one which comprises of duties mainly carried out in offices. This comprises of those kinds of works which are commonly referred to as white collar jobs. There are a number of people who fall under this category. In order to secure employment in this sector, one needs to have been to a learning institution from where knowledge in a given field is imparted. Here, employment is purely on academic merit.

The individuals in this field usually earn fixed salaries at fixed intervals, say monthly. As such, their sources of income are guaranteed. Some of these jobs may also be of the flexible kind that can be taken during part time, thus allowing the employees to spend the rest of their other time doing other things or spending time with their families. Some people also feel good about themselves when they get such working opportunities.

Some people however may be opposed to venturing into this category of work. Much as the field has its advantages, it also has got a good number of its disadvantages. For one, one may just be tied down to the offices where they are employed. This way, one may not even manage to run their businesses elsewhere. This therefore leads to stagnation in growth of the economy. Such employment is also rather boring.

The other category of tasks is those ones which may not require a lot of intellectual input. These ones are mostly done by those people who did not manage to acquire very high levels of education. Such people may have just attended lower institutions of learning such as polytechnics, in which mechanical and manual skills are imparted. Some of the duties that fall under this category include those such as carpentry and masonry.

The individuals here appreciate the kind of work they do because they are only accountable to themselves. They also have got so much flexibility such that they can venture into many other ventures without necessarily abandoning their original work. Those who have established their businesses to company level also earn very good returns for their businesses, and sometimes even better that the people working in offices.

However, some of the tasks in this category may be rather discouraging. Some such as washing toilets may make the service providers feel discriminated against. Such people may even be locked out of opportunities to access credit facilities from financial institutions. Some tasks such as carrying luggage are also very tedious and cumbersome for people to perform.

Jobs in Trinidad and Tobago are of very many types. This factor has thus helped fit every individual to some particular field. Those who are well suited to doing manual jobs have ventured into them. Those who prefer working in offices also have earned such jobs.
