The residents of Minnesota are allowed to access the Minnesota public records. These records consist of several types of documents such as the birth certificates, death certificate, marriage license and divorce documents along with the criminal history of an individual. The local county clerk office can also help in getting the needed document. Fees has to be paid in order to obtain a copy of the document, however, this would not be the same for all types of documents. To make the search easier, one has to provide the basic details of the document being requested.

Criminal records, on the other hand, have to be requested at the Public Safety Department of the state. The fee would also depend on the type of document and request made and the method of obtaining it. Fingerprint scan would cost higher but one can ensure quality and accurate results. It is also important to indicate the basic information of the record being requested on the application form as well as the personal details of the one who filed the request. By providing all of the needed information and requirements the search can be hastened.

Retrieval of government public records is now made easy with the help of the Internet. This is preferred by many of the residents in Minnesota since it is faster and convenient.
